2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Process and fulfill your orders
  • Send order confirmations and shipping notifications
  • Respond to your questions, warranty claims, or customer service requests
  • Improve our products and website experience
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

We share your information only in the following circumstances:

Service Providers

We work with trusted third-party service providers who assist in operating our business:

  • Shopify Inc. — Our e-commerce platform. Shopify stores and processes order and payment data on our behalf.
  • Payment processors (e.g., Shopify Payments, Stripe, PayPal) — Handle payment transactions securely. We do not store your full payment card details.
  • Shipping carriers (e.g., USPS, UPS, FedEx) — Receive your name and address to deliver your order.
  • Etsy — If your order was placed through Etsy, Etsy processes your data under its own privacy policy.
  • Resend (Resend Inc.) — We use Resend to deliver transactional emails from the device, including password reset codes (sent to your recovery email address) and bug report submissions. Resend processes the recipient email address and message content on our behalf.
  • GitHub (GitHub, Inc.)— When you check for or install a software update, the device contacts GitHub's servers to fetch the list of available releases and download the update bundle. GitHub receives the device's IP address and a "peek-a-hide-device" user-agent string. No personal information is included in these requests.
  • Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.) — We use Sentry for error monitoring on the Peek-a-Hide device website and API server. When unexpected software errors occur, Sentry automatically receives a report containing the error details, stack trace, and technical context (browser type, OS, page URL, and device hostname). No Wi-Fi passwords, video footage, or customer passwords are included.
  • Google Cloud / Firebase (Google LLC) — We use Firebase Cloud Functions and Firestore to confirm that your device has successfully joined your Wi-Fi network during the one-time setup process. The device sends a non-personal device identifier, a temporary single-use setup token, the firmware version, and a cryptographic signature. No Wi-Fi network name, Wi-Fi password, customer password, recovery email, IP address, or video data is sent to Firebase. Setup session records are automatically deleted 15 minutes after they are created.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government authority, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of AuDHDly, LLC, our customers, or others.

4. Device Privacy — The Peek-a-Hide

The Peek-a-Hide device connects to your home WiFi network and streams video locally on your network. AuDHDly, LLC does not access your device or your home network without your explicit consent. We never have access to your camera feed — including during a remote support session.

  • The device does not transmit data to AuDHDly, LLCor any third-party server during normal operation, with four exceptions: (1) automatic error reports are sent to Sentry when unexpected software errors occur; (2) the device contacts GitHub when you check for or install a software update; (3) if you authorize a remote support session via Raspberry Pi Connect, your device communicates with Raspberry Pi Ltd.'s servers to establish that connection; and (4) during the one-time Wi-Fi setup, the device briefly contacts Google Firebase to confirm it has successfully joined your Wi-Fi network.
  • No cloud account or subscription is required to use the device.
  • All video is streamed locally over your home network and is not stored or transmitted externally by the device.
  • You are solely responsible for the security of your home network and any recordings you choose to make.
  • You are responsible for complying with all applicable local, state, and federal laws regarding recording devices and privacy in your jurisdiction.

Optional Diagnostic Reports

The device includes an optional "Send to Support" feature on its diagnostics page. If you choose to use it, the device will transmit a diagnostic snapshot to AuDHDly, LLC for debugging purposes.

This transmission only occurs when you actively initiate it. The snapshot includes:

  • Hardware metrics (CPU temperature, memory usage, disk usage, CPU load, throttle status)
  • Device hostname and uptime
  • Device logs from the api server, camera service, Wi-Fi manager, hardware watchdog, network watchdog, and kernel errors

The snapshot does not include your Wi-Fi password, video footage, or any other personal information. It is used solely to diagnose and resolve technical issues with your device.

Remote Support via Raspberry Pi Connect

We use Raspberry Pi Connect — Raspberry Pi Ltd.'s official remote desktop access service — to provide hands-on technical support for device issues that cannot be resolved through diagnostic reports alone.

Remote support sessions are entirely optional and require your explicit consent. We will never initiate a remote connection without your permission.

  • Consent required: We will always contact you and obtain your permission before initiating any remote session. We will never connect without notifying you first and receiving your explicit approval.
  • No camera access:We cannot see your camera stream during a remote session. Remote access is limited to the device's desktop interface only.
  • Ending a session: You can terminate an active remote session at any time by powering off your device.
  • Third-party infrastructure: Remote sessions are relayed through Raspberry Pi Ltd.'s servers and are subject to Raspberry Pi Ltd.'s own privacy policy and terms of service.
  • Sessions are used solely to diagnose and resolve technical issues with your device. AuDHDly, LLC does not record remote support sessions.

Automatic Error Reporting

The Peek-a-Hidedevice website and the device's API server use Sentry to automatically capture and report unexpected software errors. This helps us identify and fix bugs that may otherwise go unreported.

When an unexpected error occurs, a report is automatically sent to Sentry containing:

  • The error message and stack trace
  • Browser type, version, and operating system (website errors only)
  • The page URL or API endpoint where the error occurred
  • Your local network IP address (website errors only)
  • Device hostname (API server errors only)

These reports do not include your Wi-Fi password, video footage, customer password, or recovery email. Error reporting is automatic and does not require any action on your part. Only unexpected errors are captured — routine operations and expected failures (such as an incorrect password entry) are never sent to Sentry.

Cloud-Based Wi-Fi Setup

The first time you connect your Peek-a-Hide to your Wi-Fi network, the device briefly communicates with Google Firebase (Google LLC) so the setup page can tell you when the device has successfully joined your network. This is the only time the device contacts Firebase — it is not used during normal day-to-day operation.

During Wi-Fi setup, the device sends the following to a Firebase Cloud Function:

  • A non-personal device identifier (e.g., a serial-style name assigned at the factory)
  • A temporary, single-use setup token (valid for 15 minutes)
  • The device's firmware version
  • A cryptographic signature and one-time random value used to prove the request came from a genuine Peek-a-Hide device

Separately, your phone or computer's browser polls the same Firebase Cloud Function with the temporary setup token to learn whether the device has come online yet. The response contains only a status value ("pending," "online," or "expired") — no personal information is returned.

The following are never sent to Firebase: your Wi-Fi network name (SSID), your Wi-Fi password, your customer password, your recovery email, your IP address, your MAC address, video footage, or any account or personal information.

Setup session records stored in Firebase are automatically deleted 15 minutes after they are created. A small permanent record of the device identifier and firmware version is retained so that future updates and support requests can be authenticated; this record contains no customer personal information.
